People wore some odd AF clothes to the horse race ‘that stops the nation’
Going to horse racing events in Australia is meant to be a classy endeavour, but it always attracts plenty of outlandish and farfetched fashion choices.
Even the most important event of the racing year, the Melbourne Cup, isn’t without its lurid outfits amongst the sea pastel polyester shirts, white loafers, bodycon dresses and nude heels.
Let’s take a look at the daring fashions on the field this year, shall we?
Like these custom suits, which really speak (loudly) for themselves.
Or Lloyd Williams, owner of the winning Melbourne Cup horse, and obvious Batman Forever enthusiast.
Here’s former Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins, dressed as edutainment video game star Carmen Sandiego.
We’ll stop being cynical for a moment, because how cute is this widdle baby in a horse costume?
Some dude dressed as Mel Gibson in Braveheart, complete with face makeup, because why not?
Singer Rob Mills wore a suit jacket loaded with miniature Melbourne Cup trophies on them…
…apparently the jacket weighs 20 kilograms, but it’s also for charity.
And finally, the woman who wore an entire mini racecourse on her head. Very creative, and no doubt sweaty.
You’re all winners to us!
